Pre-Listing Prep: Getting Your Home Ready To Sell
Throughout the selling process, we will be showcasing your home to potential buyers in a variety of ways, including private showings, Realtor® events and Open Houses. Every time a potential buyer walks through the door, we have an opportunity to make them fall in love with your home, so you’ll want to make sure everything is in tip-top condition for all showings. But there is a bit of a misconception about WHEN to get your home show home ready... and it's much earlier in the process than you think!
3 amazing things you can do before staging and photos that will save you so much time, and will help showcase your home!
Change Your Lightbulbs
This seems like a super minor thing, but you wouldn’t believe how many people have burned out bulbs in their homes. By making sure your lights are bright (and are all the same colour) the light will shine through in photos and make the space look fresh and bright.
Reduce All Clutter
Being conscious about keeping things like bathroom counters, kitchen counters and desktops clutter-free will make sure your rooms look airy and clean. Less is more! Tuck all of your toothbrushes, soaps, cleaning supplies, garbage cans and bathmats away. It will make the room look much bigger in photos, and it will be a nice clean space for potential buyers to imagine filling with their own items.
Clean!
We have cleaners who specialize in taking care of cleaning your home to present the best for photos and staging. Little things like polishing up stainless steel appliances, mirrors and windows are important, but sometimes get missed. Dust bunnies under couches and cobwebs in high corners that aren’t noticeable day to day, but stand out for someone seeing your place during a showing.
It can be a lot of work getting and keeping your home in perfect condition throughout the selling process, but your dedication will pay off!
